In Paradise with the Hasselblad

Little is left to say how special was this trip to the mountains. 

It was like a dream come true, everything was as I wanted it to look like, a cold, foggy and rainy day. And although it was mid winter I didn't get angry because there was no snow.

I think the Hasselblad has something magical and makes you see the world in a completely different way compared to all the cameras I've used and owned. Some of the photos look as if they were about to pop and get out from the screen or the paper.

It's not about composing in a square and seeing the world inverted as I had that shock when I bought a Yashica Mat 124G. It may be that I'm in love with the Hasselblad and everything related to "her" but I'm definitely experiencing a different way of shooting and viewing things.

This was my first trip with the "little" Hassie, and since I had taken these photos I've been wondering how would they look, as I was trying a new film in some conditions I've never shot before and I was shooting with a new camera.

I could be writing the whole day about how wonderful this camera is and how much I'd love to live isolated in the mountains as we did for a few days but I think it's better if you sit down, relax and take a look to that wonder that is nature.

Siurana

It's a blessing having met a person who shares my passion for getting lost and going to adventures. I want to take the most out of this time when I'm able to leave and make this little escapes on the weekends.

This time the chosen place was Siurana, a little town on the top of a mountain cliff located in the Priorat, a region of Catalonia.

This little town has barely 20 people living there and it's interesting not only for the majestic views of the valley and the lake but for its history, as it was one of the last redoubt places of the muslim domination in Catalonia.

I've got to admit that I felt really isolated and teleported to another time and place rather than being in the 21st century in Catalonia. The sensation of isolation and the immensity of the landscapes were a nice mixture of feelings and sensations.

I've been following him for quite a few years and still in all these years for some reason I never went to one of his concerts. This week, at last, coinciding with the presentation in Barcelona of his new album I finally attended one.

This album and concert are something special, he spent a whole year isolated to compose and record the album, somehow was something he needed, and he totally transmitted that to me.

I must say that I identify myself a lot with his music, I could say that many of his songs are the soundtrack of some events of my life so that makes a deep connection between the artist and the fan, in this case, me.

The photos in this post are just my fan photos, I just took the camera out when I felt like so, i don't pretend to sell anything, it's just that I enjoy his music so much that I feel I've got to share what he made me feel.

One more week our obsession for getting lost and rid of the stress and speed of the city made us look for another place (this time not too far from civilization) to spend the day and enjoy nature.

This time we went to a fairly known mountain in the nearness of Barcelona. It's funny how a little car ride can lead you to such beautiful landscapes and peacefulness.

Isolation was not on the list of things you can find there as it's pretty accessible, nonetheless it was beautiful and very enjoyable. Luckily we found the first snow traces and the weather was very forgiving. As it was very windy we had the luck of enjoying both sunny and cloudy weather which made a pretty interesting light and color mix.

And with this it's 2 posts in 2 weeks. Exam's time is up so I won't keep up with this pace, hopefully in two weeks I should be back on track, meanwhile enjoy the new blog with the other posts and the new website!

Lost in Paradise

We decided we needed to leave everything behind, leave and get lost in the mountains. Little did we know that we would find a way to paradise..

The weather couldn't have been better, it was a cold, cloudy and rainy day. I guess those were some of the key elements that helped us find the path to that parallel dimension that led us to paradise.

It was like being in a dream. In fact it was better. I don't think my mind couldn't have dreamt such a wonderful moment.

We were alone in the middle of the mountains far from the civilization, far from people... There was only silence, broken by the raindrops falling to the water and the ground.
